Wind Breaker had an incredibly eventful Sunday on October 13, unveiling a brand-new trailer, teaser visual, production staff, new cast members, and the premiere date for the highly anticipated second season, alongside the announcement of a video game adaptation of the series.
The second season of the anime adaptation of Satoru Nii's Wind Breaker manga is set to premiere in April 2025, following the first season's debut in Spring 2024. The teaser visual carries the tagline, "The heroes of the town face a new battle," alluding to the upcoming conflict between Bōfurin and KEEL.
Production for the second season is underway at CloverWorks, with several staff members returning from the first season. Director Toshifumi Akai, known for his character design work on Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, will lead the team again. Hiroshi Seko, who handled series composition for Jujutsu Kaisen, is also back, while character designs will be overseen by Yūsuke Tanaka (chief animation director, Vividred Operation), taking over from series chief animation director Taishi Kawakami. Action direction will be managed by Kazuyuki Asaka (key animation, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie), and Asuka Yokota (colour design, Black Butler: Public School Arc) will now be joined by Kyōko Hara. Music will again be composed by Ryō Takahashi, with Yasunao Moriyasu coming on board to handle art settings.
The cast has expanded to include Ryōta Ōsaka, who will portray Tasuku Tsubakino, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Bōfūrin. The second season of Wind Breaker is slated to premiere in April 2025. Additionally, the newly announced video game adaptation, titled Wind Breaker: Heroic Tales of Delinquents, also revealed its teaser trailer and visual during the event.

Satoru Nii's Wind Breaker manga launched on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app in January 2021 and has since been compiled into 19 volumes. The story is set in a high school for delinquents who serve as heroes, protecting their town from harm.
The main character, Haruka Sakura, is solely focused on finding the strongest fighters and is determined to climb to the top, which complicates his integration into a team when he joins Furin High. The first season premiered on April 4 and was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired. Additionally, a stage play adaptation of the manga is scheduled to run in Osaka from January 1-3 and in Tokyo from January 10-19.
